Rare Bob Dylan Recordings Discovered After 40 Years

Legacy RecordingsSome rare Bob Dylan recordings have been discovered by a record collector after 40 years.

Jeff Gold explains on the record collectibles website RecordMecca that he recently came across 149 acetates of in-progress versions of songs Dylan made while he was recording his 1969 album, Nashville Skyline, and his 1970 releases, Self Portrait and New Morning.

The acetates previously belonged to the woman who owned the building in New York City where Dylan rented a room to use as a studio.

Gold thinks Dylan either left them behind or threw them away when he moved out.
