Your Mind Matters Lunch & Learn: The Addicted Brain

 Marquette, Michigan – Learn how people become addicted on Wednesday, May 16 at noon in the Peter White Public Library Community room on the lower level of the library.

John Lehtinen, M.D. leads the discussion exploring the biological basis for addiction and recent major advances in treatment models.  A question and answer session follows the presentation.

Dr. Lehtinen, on staff at Marquette General Hospital, is board certified in Addiction Medicine as well as Geriatrics, Sports and Family Medicine. He earned his doctorate from Wayne State University School of Medicine and did his residency at St. John Hospital in Detroit.

Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch or buy from the library café. Beverages will be provided. There is no admission charge and no pre-registration is required.

This presentation is part of Your Mind Matters, a community dialog on mental health issues sponsored by a coalition of community groups and the Peter White Public Library.
